NaNoWriMo.
I have joined this incredible challenge: National Novel Writing Month, thirty days and nights of literary abandon! It begins Nov. 1 and ends on the 30th. The challenge is pretty simple: write a 50,000 word novel by the end of the month. Simple in concept, but not easy to do. I’ve always loved to write short stories, but it usually took me awhile to write them. Writing one in a month is mind blowing to me, but as a writer, it’s a challenge I have to undertake. Deadlines are good for writers, I think, because the pressure is needed to actually get things done. Most writers I know are scatterbrains. And I mean that with the utmost affection. I’m a huge scatterbrain. I write something, and then I leave it for a month or so to write something else. So, this challenge will be difficult for me, but I feel like the pressure will be good. And it’s really cool to do it with friends. The Yankees winning definitely gives me a great morale boost. =]
When I’m done, I’ll edit it and maybe post it here. I’m kind of proud of what I’ve written so far. So, stay tuned for the end of the month…you might find my novel here. :]
